HONORING MYSELF

So I’ve been away from Twitter and tumblr a little while.  Ended up in the hospital last week for excessive bleeding, and it’s taken me a while to recover.  I feel I’ve neglected all of you, and lost followers because of it, but so it goes. 

I have changed the name of my tumblr because, I am no longer approaching 50.  I’ve officially hit it!  I was born December 15th, 1960, first child of Robert and Anna Mae (nee Lokovsek) Anderson.  This picture was taken by my Dad’s stepfather, who was a professional landscape photographer.  I think the hand writing is my sister’s, and that she got Mom’s age wrong.  Mom is actually 21 here.  I miss her…

It’s Apple Cup time here in Washington State.  The annual cross-state football rivalry between the UW Huskies of Seattle and the WSU Cougars of Pullman.  A win this year for the Huskies means a bowl game.  For the Cougs, bragging rights.  My oldest son is a Senior in bioengineering at the U - a Husky.  My sister has worked for 25 years at Wazzu - a Coug.   Two of my moms’ brothers played each other in an Apple Cup played in 1950.  I wonder where my grandparents sat???  Did they care who won?  This game usually leaves me conflicted about who to root for.  So - Go Football!

This is happening at my house RIGHT NOW!

It’s raining today… And Lucy the pig is very bored.  She’s eaten.  She’s slept.  She’s snurddled the throw rugs into a pile.  What she really needs to do, is go outside.  But Lucy doesn’t like being cold AND wet.  So I put her coat on her, threw some treats out on the patio and actually said the words: “You have your coat on.  Now go be a pig!”  Oh, the joys of pet parenting! 

El Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia - Just one of Gaudi’s many masterpieces.  Truly remarkable to behold!  Spring of 2010.  Barcelona, Spain.

This is an amazing church, and Gaudi was a man with an amazing vision and talent.  I visited this church 2 times in the spring, about a week apart.  The 1st time, the interior space was filled with work spaces and scaffolding.  During the later visit, everything was being dismantled in preparation for the visit that is happening today.  I hope there are pictures!
